If your xanga has the virus, please leave me a note.  or if you know you're safe.  until i get a list of where to go/ not go, i'm not going to be checking any xangas.  sorry.

Okay, so my original plan was 100, but i got lazy.

Things I've learned in 2005

1)      You can miss people that you see everyday

2)      Parents aren’t really that bad

3)      The Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776

4)      Sleep isn’t a priority

5)      Friends are there to help you through hard times so that you’re not all alone.

6)      God’s love is truly amazing/wonderful/indescribable

7)      Sometimes all you have to do to help somebody is listen and care

8)      If you push yourself, you can achieve things you didn’t think possible, but in the end it’s worth it.

9)      I would never be able to have a good party because I’m too much of a control freak.

10)  The Perks of Being a Wallflower is the best book I’ve ever read.

11)  Friends change

12)  When unforeseen obstacles change your plans don’t fight them, work with them.

13)  Walking and kayaking are great things to do when you want to do intense thinking and figure things out.

14)  Science is never going to be a fun experience.

15)  Things can always get worse

16)  Things can always get better

17)  The Way to Begin is the song that basically expresses me.

18)  Just being yourself raises self esteem.

19)  Sometimes when you’re having a bad day a really good hug can make it all better.  Not like a “hi” hug, a real “I love you, it’s going to be okay, and I’m here for you” hug.

20)  People are really good at hiding how they really feel.

21)  Very few people are honest with even themselves.

22)  Driving is not as fun as you think it is when you’re a kid.

23)  It’s okay to be wrong.

24)  Being able to make people laugh is the best quality above all.

25)  Highlighting quotes in a good book makes them personalized.

26)  Keeping a “Feel Good folder” full of cards, notes, pictures, etc from friends really does make you feel better when you’re having a lousy day.

27)  Jeremiah 1: 4-10 still gives me chills every time I read it, even though I’ve read it hundreds of times.

28)  Kirsten and Christy and maybe a few others are going to go look that up right now.

29)  It’s okay to not be perfect, the only thing that matters is how hard you try.

30)  Don’t be afraid to take a chance, that chance may never come again

31)  Don’t live in the past, you miss the present.

32)  The same goes for the future.

33)  I love my friends more than they will ever know.

34)  A lot of people who say that nobody understand them are all going through the same thing, they just don’t take the time to look around at others lives because they’re too focused on themselves. (not to be rude)

35)  Sometimes you have to be more than a support, you have to help pick somebody back up.

my christmas present to myself.
i am so freakin' happy!  Okay, so my parents paid for about half as a christmas present, but the other half i saved up for so it makes me really happy that i earned this!  This is a Nikon D50, in case you didn't already know.  and yesterday i bought it!!  i am extatic.

so yesterday when we went to the store to go buy it i brought all my gift cards (17, to be exact) and all my cash that i had saved up and i told the lady i wanted it, she rung it up, i recounted all my money, and then gave it all to her.  so we're waiting forever because it takes a really long time to put in gift cards and i had 17.  anyways, she finishes up and looks at me and says "you're 293 short".  i figured she meant like $2.93 so i handed her 3 more dollars.  then she looks at me and goes "no... 200 and 93." at that point i'm in complete shock.  my mom had just left me for a minute because it was taking so long so i don't know what to do.  i'm looking everywhere trying to find this money because i could have sworn that we had it all, and plus i'm really embarrassed b/c i thought i had enough money.  so i'm in shock trying to figure out what to do and then another lady is at the register and goes "wait, wait, wait... she might be right".  it turns out that some of the gift cards had been put in as the wrong amount, drastically decreasing the amount i had paid.  but it all worked out in the end and i have my camera now and i'm really really happy.

sorry, i'm bad at this whole story telling thing.  if reading that made you feel like you wasted your life... sorry.

i've pretty much mastered all the auto functions, now i have to learn manual.  somehow the concepts are a lot easier than actually applying them.  i'm sure i'll learn though.  wish me luck!
